Who are John and Christi Tynan?

John and Christi Tynan married 36 years ago and have proudly called Fannin County home for the last 35 years.

John’s Story

John began his career in 1991 at Parts Plus, finding his true calling in the automotive industry with Carter Wood Motor Company, a path that led him to larger dealerships in the North Texas area. Over 25 years in the auto industry, John built a reputation for managing multi million dollar inventories, staffing many departments and rebuilding troubled departments. John has always pursued his education while working, studying Criminal law I&II Finance and Insurance, Contractual law, and Texas Real Estate. John has always had a heart to volunteer when he could, Reserve Law Enforcement, Volunteer Fire Fighter and Men’s Ministry groups.

When COVID-19 changed the world and the auto industry, John made the decision to get licensed in real estate so he could partner with Christi and work as a team. Real estate is a challenging career, relying on a good economy, but serving people has always been at the heart of John’s work.

John was given the opportunity to join Fannin County Precinct 3. As an equipment operator, he builds, rebuilds, and maintains county roads, work he takes pride in, every single day. But the call to do more has stayed with him. He loves this county and feels a strong conviction to serve it in a greater capacity.

Christi’s Story

Christi is well-known throughout the community. She began her career in 1991 as an optician at the Eye Center, serving for 18 years under Dr. John A. Webb O.D. In 2004, she earned her Texas Real Estate License and became a Realtor® with Century 21 Harvey Properties, where she still proudly serves today helping families for over 20 years.

Christi has always been active in the community, giving her time and energy wherever she could—until stepping away to care for her mother during her battle with Alzheimer’s. Her mother passed away in February 2025, a loss that deeply shaped Christi’s compassion for others in difficult seasons.

Why I decided to serve Fannin County

I work for the Fannin County Road & Bridge department after interviewing for a much less labor intensive position within the county. During that interview, in our newly restored courthouse, I heard something that disturbed me:
“There is the right way to do things, the wrong way to do things… and then there is the Fannin County way.”
Everyone in the room, including two top elected officials agreed with that statement.

That made my decision very clear. I wanted to learn the job from the ground up, and then run for office and make a difference. I believe in doing things the right way. We have a leadership problem in our local government that I can, and will correct, we deserve nothing less.

I decided to run for Fannin County Judge because I have a servant heart and I am Ready to answer the call.
